This week on the Leftorium, we pay visit to The Hague, known the world over for not being Amsterdam. According to parts of the wikipedia entry I skimmed just minutes before this went up, The Hague is home to a King Willem-Alexander who warred against his brothers for accession to the highest throne in the Netherlands where he now rules with an iron fist. There is much culture here and a wealth of history and one could easily get carried away soaking it all up. The reason for our visit however is that it is becoming increasingly likely the United States will be forced to invade The Hague with nothing, as always, but good intentions. We here in the Leftorium, being the defenders of American democracy that we are, took it upon ourselves to uncover the sinister machinations that would so rouse our elected officials to enact a law giving our president carte blanche to declare war on this strange land some time in the future. In our search, we found a shadowy organization calling itself the International Criminal Court whose stated purpose is to “prosecute individuals for the international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.” In other words, well-meaning Americans might be prosecuted for simply “defending freedom” here and abroad and as a nation, we should all be concerned.
